5 years and counting

Last month we celebrate the 5th year anniversary of  Aquabest Pateros by giving a summer outing. Our employees  We allow each of our staff to bring one guest of their choice and we also invited “everyone” in our family. It was a day of fun, laughter and thanksgiving as we  try to enjoy the fruits of our labor.

It was year 2005 when we started with only two employees and now after 5 years we’ve grown into seven employees. It was always been my dream to put up a business so that I’ll be able to help people not by giving them fish but by teaching them how to fish.

As I tweeted last April. We are planning to give them more opportunity to earn more and be the best on their own. Part of that plan is me teaching them the basics of having a business. I urge them to submit business proposal that we can incorporate with our current business. My only requirement is that it should be a type of business that we can work as team and everyone will agree that it is doable and something that they will take responsibility. Profits will be shared equally and my main responsibility is to audit this new business unit.

As of today, I’ve approved two proposals and we are on the stage of planning on how to do it.

For now, here are some of the excerpts of our summer outing:

Project Sketches

leave a comment

Whenever I have business/project or random ideas, I usually try to make note of it by sketching the design or writing the ideas on my organizer. I usually use a standard size notebook  and its one of the reason I need a big bag.

Sketching frees our ideas from our mind allowing others to see them. – Jason Robb

Sometimes when I attend meetings (usually its a conference call), my coworkers will often find me sketching. If we are talking about a certain module or bug to fix. I try to illustrate it by sketching the workflow.

With web application, I want to have a clear idea on how the site will looks like before I attempt to code it using html. After finishing my sketches, that’s when I proceed with the actual coding.

So take a peek inside my organizer/sketchbook.
